The Adam Rifkin Film Festival
United States • 1975 - 1987
From the director of The Last Movie Star, Detroit Rock City, and The Dark Backward...
In 1975 a young Adam Rifkin commandeered his father’s super 8 camera and gradually turned his home in a quiet Chicago suburb into his own private backlot. His penchant for the gleefully irreverent was present long before he carved his own idiosyncratic path through the film industry, and this woozy, unblinking gaze at the American dream.
These anarchic, never-before released shorts chart the director’s growth from from his very first film at the age of 8, to the final short right before his very first Hollywood feature at the tender age of 21.
Dekanolog is proud to present these early works of an American original, remastered from the only surviving elements and available for the first time ever.
